Waterberg Local Municipality invites applicants to apply for Fire Fighters Leanerships programme for financial year 2020 in Waterberg, Limpopo. uccessful candidates will be paid a stipend of R181 308 per annum excluding municipal employee benefits.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 plus a Fire Fighter 1
  • Hazmat Awareness and First Aid Level 3 Certificate
  • Computer literacy
  • A valid Code C1 South African driver’s licence
  • Experience in an established fire services will be an advantage
  • No fear of heights Not claustrophobic
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work on a shift system
  • Able to work six days a week
  • Be on standby as per shift

Duties and responsibilities

Perform operational duties of firefighting and rescue services under supervision .Participate in fire prevention inspections and programmes Respond to firefighting, rescue and other emergencies Execute orders at incidents in accordance with safety procedures Report hazardous situations during operational activities Assist with cleaning up at the accident incident scene Test, maintain and clean all emergency vehicles and the workstation area on a daily basis .Manning the Control Room when required and perform basic administrative duties Assist with queries and inquiries from the public and complete call slips.
